“Karnataka Governor Urges Graduates to Contribute to Nation

Bengaluru; The Honorable Governor of Karnataka, Thaawarchand Gehlot presided over the 3rd convocation ceremony of the Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayati Raj University in Gadag.

During the ceremony, the governor congratulated the students who were awarded degrees and gold medals and encouraged them to work hard, serve humanity, and become entrepreneurs and job providers. He also stressed the importance of the agriculture sector and the need for modernization of agriculture, animal husbandry, and food processing to make India self-sufficient and a global power in the agricultural industry.

The governor emphasized the role of veterinary and animal science graduates in nation-building and development. He also mentioned that the government of India and the government of Karnataka have implemented several schemes to make agriculture a profitable business and increase the income of farmers.

Furthermore, the governor acknowledged the responsibility of protecting and enhancing the environment and highlighted the need to work towards water, forest, and air conservation. The governor’s speech highlighted the importance of the IT revolution in Indian agriculture and how it could be the next significant step in increasing agricultural production.

The University, established in 2016, aims to improve the quality of life of the rural population and provide education and training for economic growth and sustainable development. It is unique in the country as it is run by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj. The university’s new campus has established a Model Nursery that provides knowledge of agriculture-related activities to the students and farmers.

Dr. Subbanna Ayyappan, Chairman of Karnataka Science and Technology Academy Bengaluru, VC Prof. Vishnukant S. Chatpalli, and other dignitaries were present at the ceremony. The convocation ceremony was attended by a large number of students, faculty members, and distinguished guests. The governor’s presence and words of encouragement were appreciated by everyone present at the ceremony.
