Overcoming Caste and Communal barriers would ensure stronger internal security of the country: V K Singh
KALABURAGI; Union Minister of state for Road Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation General V K Singh said that the overcoming the caste and communal barriers would ensure a stronger internal security response in the country and there was urgent need for imbibing a sense of responsibility in every citizen to come forward to protect the internal security of the country.
ddressing the students of the Sharnbasva University at the Doddappa Appa Auditorium in Kalaburagi city on Wednesday, General Singh, who was also a former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), said that the division in the name of caste and religion was one of the major threats to the internal security, strong internal security is important for the economic growth of country
General Singh said that the India gave the concept of democracy to the entire world by practicing the democracy as a way of life from ancient times. “Unfortunately, after the Independence the concept of the democracy was the one with all rights but without any responsibility on the citizens whereas in other countries the democracy which was adopted was with rights as well as responsibilities on the citizens”. Unlike in India in other countries, particularly at the time when the internal security of the country is threatened everybody united with responsibility to protect it.
General Singh said that one of the major advantage of India was that the citizens of the country are imbibed with the culture of accepting and respecting other religions and this should be used as the basis to unite the people and make them overcome the religious barriers to protect the country’s integrity save it from the evil designs the forces inimical to India’s progress. He said that there was also need to overcome the caste barriers.
He said that the Army always succeeded in all its mission because in Army there are no caste or religious barriers all are equal and every religion is respected and practiced and the citizens of the country need to emulate the army in this regard and break the barriers of caste and religion and take the country forward in the development.
General Singh said that India was the only country in the world which is making rapid progress in all the fields with an average growth rate of 6 per cent which no other country could achieve and the confidence of the International investors was very high about India because of the peace and conducive atmosphere prevailing in the country for investment. “We are getting record investments in all the sectors which no other country is getting it”. The knowledge capital of India was very high and Indians besides dominating in the field of soft and hardware throughout the world.
Referring to the decision of the BJP to adopt crowd sourcing for preparing the manifesto of the party, General Singh said that the party wanted to prepare the manifesto of the particular state before the assembly elections based on the pulse of the people of that particular state. He said that “Nothing comes free and everything comes to you at a cost….”
