Sharnbasva University hosts Regional Hackathon for startup ideas
KALABURAGI; The MSME Incubation Center in the Sharnbasva University and Guru Nanak Jhira Entrepreneurship Research and Business Incubation Foundation (GNJERBIF) hosted the Regional Hackathon for the students to come up with new ideas for establishing start ups of their own which would be nurtured and given a final shape in the incubation centres established in Sharnbasva University and GNJERBIF.
Experts in identifying the potential proposals and ideas for the new startups from different parts of the state including Mr Jagan Karthick, who had helped in establishing incubation centres in different institutions and identifying several startups from the young bright minds, Mr Rakesh Marturkar, Incubation Manager of the GNJERBIF addressed the students from different departments of Engineering Faculty and stressed the need for the bright young minds to come up with new start up ideas to stand on their own legs in their professional career.
More than 130 students from the different engineering departments had registered in the Regional Hackathon and as per the information available 83 applications have been received with new ideas for establishing the startups. The students who had submitted these proposals presented their papers in the Hackathon before a team of experts from different incubation centres and the industry. The selected proposals would be considered before an expert committee which would recommend them to be placed before the Department of Science and Technology for assistance to be nurtured and developed in the incubation centre.
Mr Marturkar said that with the vast development of the technology the world has become a small village without any borders and this has enabled the advent of the era of professionals working from their houses and reaching the customers beyond the borders. The students with bright ideas have a bright future and should nurture these ideas into start ups to stand on their own legs without knocking at the doors of the industries for shaping their professional careers. The Incubation Centres established by the MSME and the Department of Science and Technology holds hopes for the students with their dreams of establishing their own industries into a reality.
Mr Jagar Karthick delivered a lecture on the start ups and the importance of the incubation centres and the role played by the centres of higher education in shaping the professional careers of the young minds. Dean of the Sharnbasva University Dr Lakshmi Patil Maka, coordinators of the Conference Dr Basanti Ghanti, Prof Laxmi Patil, Dr Nagaveni and others were present.
