“Saaz-e-Hind” A two-day qawwali competition inaugurated

Kalaburagi: Gulbarga University in collaboration with Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi organised a two-day Inter University National Qawwali competition at Dr BR Ambedkar Hall in University campus on Monday.
Khaja Bandanawaz University Pro Chancellor Syed Muhammad Ali Al Hussaini inaugurated the event. Vice Chancellor of Gulbarga University Prof Dayanand Agsar presided over the function.
About ten universities across the country participated in the unique qawwali competition.
Urdu and Hindi language scripts were used for qawwali. Moreover the contestants focused and followed on classical qawwali singers. The audience were so excited that not a single person left the hall till the event is over. Its a kind of event in Kalaburagi city to enjoy the classical qawwali competition.
Joint secretary of Association of Indian Universities Dr Baljit Singh Sekhon was the guest of honour.
Student Welfare Officer K Lingappa was the coordinator of the event.
However, the major attraction was a stage that was designed on elements of Deccan architecture planned by artist Dr Shahed Pasha.
