CUK’s Facultyin Top World Scientists Ranking

KALABURAGI:  Ahmed Kamal among top 2% scientists in the world  |  Photo Credit: Representative Image Dr.N.Sandeep, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Central University of Karnatakahas been named among top 2% scientists in the world as per a subject-wise analysis conducted by a team of scientists at Stanford University, USA, led by Dr John PA Ioannidis.

The database has been published in the highly rated journals, PLOS Biology. The scientists of Stanford University have created a database of more than 1,00,000 top scientists of the world on the basis of standardised citation indicators such as information on citations, H-index, co-authorship and a composite indicator.

All scientists were classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. For analyses of the citations and the composite indicators, SCOPUS data provided by Elsevier was used with data freeze as on May 6.  His research area is Fluid Mechanics and as per the database he has published 160 research papers and his world ranking in the subject area is 731 and he is one among the 0.78% top scientists in the world.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. H.M Maheshwaraiah, expressed his happiness and said “we are very proud of our teachers like Dr. N Sandeep for his achievement. We are trying to create an ecosystem for faculties to do world class research. In my tenure I have given more preference to building labs for all the science streams for research and development.

I wish more and more faculties will achieve milestones in their respective areas.” Prof. G. R Naik, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed I Patel, Registrar and Dr. Deepak Samuel, Dean of School of Physical Sciences,extended their heartiest congratulations to him for this commendable achievement.
