Gala birthday celebration of Poojya Appaji, Avvaji and Chiranjivee Doddappa Appa planned

KALABURAGI;  The Sharnbasva University has joined hands with the Educational institutions run by the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha to celebrate jointly the birthdays of Chancellor of the Sharnbasva University and President of the Sharnabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Mahadasohi Poojya Dr Sharnbaswappa Appaji, Matoshri Poojya Dr Dakshayini Avvaji and 9th Peetathipathi of the Sharnbasaveshwar Samasthan Chiranjivee Doddappa Appaji in a grand manner six days by organizing national webinars and a concluding day national seminar on the achievements and contribution of Dr Appaji in the field of education, literature, culture and other fields.

While the 86th Birthday celebration falls on November 14, the birthday of Matoshri Dr Avvaji falls on November 22 and the Birthday of Chiranjeevi Doddappa Appa was on November 01. The Sharanabasaveshwar Samasthan and all the educational institutions run by the Sangha and the Sharnbasva University celebrated the birthdays of all three throughout the month of November by organizing functions, seminars, and workshops every year. However, due to Pandemic situation and the distraught caused to the people, particularly farmers due to heavy rains and floods in the entire North Karnataka, the birthday celebrations have been subdued this year.

Dr Appaji and Dr Avvaji have declared that they would not celebrate their birthday along with that of Chiranjeevi Doddappa Appa this year due to the prevailing pandemic situation and suffering of the people.

However, in a meeting chaired by the Secretary of the Sangha Mr Basavaraj Deshmukh a decision was taken to observe the birthdays of Dr Appaji, Dr Avvaji and Chiranjeevi Doddappa Appa in a grand manner from Septmber 08th to 13th by organizing webinars in different colleges and University and on September 13 valedictory function would be organized in which two books including the Magnum Opus “Shri Sharanabasava Mahadasoha Dharshanam Mahakavya” penned by Dr Shivaraj Shashtri Heruru and “Mahaprasadi” penned by Dr Neelambika Sherikar would be released. Special lectures would be organized on the occasion.
