Colours of Independence: A one-day painting camp on Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
KALABURAGI: A one-day painting camp and patriotic songs singing event dedicated to the nation and freedom fighters expressing their efforts through art was successful. Veteran artist VG Andani was speaking after inaugurating an art camp held at MMK College of Visual Art campus on August 15, 2022. It was a historical event organised on the occasion of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” by Kalaburgai-based Suki Samskritika Prathistan and Cartoon Academy.
Andani said our country has seen the legends like MF Husain, SH Raza, FN Souza and others who built a strong foundation in the art field across the world. He also remembered Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and Gangubai Hangal for their contribution to the field of music.
Artist Rehaman Patel, Laxmikant Manokar, Nagraj Kulkarni, Jeetendra Kothalikar, Laxmi Poddar, Arvind Tonpe, Nayana B, Mallikarjun Mugali and Gopal KP participated in the painting camp and expressed their views through canvas.
Patel has put up a flag colours in sky and he drawn multiple houses with flags on its terrace expressing “Has Ghar Tiranga”. Kothalikar also made a tricolor in abstract form.
Singers Shravankumar Nandi, Anirudh Deshmukh, Chennaveer Hugar, Vijaykumar RJ, Ramesh Joshi, Kiran Patil, Praksh Dandoti, Vittal Metre, Sharanu Pattanshetty, Sangayya Haladmath, Rajshekar Kattimani, Maheshkumar Nippani, Kaviraj Nimbal, Ambarish Kulkarni, Siddanna Diggaon, Vanishiri Joshi sans the patriotic songs.
Senior artist Kishanrao Sarode and photographer DB Shirwalkar were felicitated on the occasion. Noted cartoonist Sanjeev M and Educationist Kiran Patil coordinated the event.
