A one-day world coins and currency exhibition organized
KALBURAGI: A coin speaks the history. It has an historical and cultural importance. Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel was speaking at a one-day World coins and currency exhibition jointly organized by the Government College (Autonomous) and Ayaz Numismatic Art & Photo Heritage Trust on Thursday in college premises.
He said that the coins and currency of 275 countries, from Satavahana period to till date have exhibited in this exhibition. The coins of 75-Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav also exhibited here he said.
Artist and researcher Rehaman Patel attending as a chief guest expressed the efforts of Ayazuddin who collected coins and currency across the world are really appreciable. The younger generation is lucky to have such exhibition at their college he added. Students should learn the importance of coins he said.
Presiding over the function Government College principal Dr. Shankreppa S. Hatti advised the students to take benefit of the exhibition and have a discussion with Ayazuddin Patel. A person is with you who visited more than 30 countries and gain knowledge of their culture he said.
More than two thousand students visited the exhibition.
Painting Exhibition: The college also conducted an exhibition of paintings created on “Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency” sponsored by Bureau of Energy Efficiency & Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited. Best paintings were given mementos and certificate of award. Prof. Vinodkumar Rathod was the convener of the event.
