Mass Ishtalinga Puja performed in Sharnbasva University
KALABURAGI; For the first time a mass Ishtalinga Puja and initiation of Ishtalinga was performed in the Travel and Tourism Department in Sharnbasva University in the main campus of the University in Kalaburagi City on Tuesday.
Poojya Sri Abhinava Parvatheshwara Shivacharya Mahaswamigalu initiated the Mass Ishtalinga Puja and also initiated Ishtalinga Deeksha to those who came forward for the Deeksha in the ceremony. Prof Vanishree at the initiation of the Poojya Swamiji performed the initial pujas and purification ceremonies as part of the Ishtalinga Puja.
The Mass Ishtalinga Puja was organized by the Travel and Tourism Department as part of the practical’s for the students of the department on Diverse Cultural entity of India. Prof Vanishree said that this programme was organized to give an insight into the diverse cultural background of the country and various festivals and ceremonies organized and practiced in different parts of the country.
Chairperson of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Matoshree Dakshayini Avvaji who participated in the programme in her address said that the Ishta Linga Puja should become integral part of everybody and the Ishta Linga Puja should be performed in proper way and should be conducted seriously. Performing the Ishta linga puja daily improved the concentration and this would go long way in helping the students to improve their academic performance.
Performing Ishta Linga puja dutifully would also improve the health profile of every individual and help in overcoming serious illness like Cancer and other dangerous diseases. Performing the Ishta linga puja would also improve the self confidence of everybody. She lauded the Tourism and Travel Department for organizing such a programe in the university which would go long way in helping the students.
The Swamiji while initiating the Linga Dheeksha gave secret sermon to the faculty of the Travel and Tourism Department and some of the students. The Swamiji who spoke on the occasion praised the initiation of the University in organizing such programmes which would lead the youth in a righteous path. He also advised the students to follow the strict regimen and customs while performing Ishtalinga Puja at their homes. 9th Peeyhadhipati of Sharnbasaveshwara Samsthana Chiranjivi Poojya Doddappa Appaji, Vice Chancellor of the University Dr Niranjan V Nisty,Dean Lakshmi Patil Maka, Finance officer Kiran Maka was prominent among others who participated in the function.
