Motor Cycle Rally , Photo Exhibition organized to commemorate the National Unity Day
KALABURAGI; The Teaching Staff and Students of the Sharnbasva University and NSS units of the University organized a massive motor cycle rally in Kalaburagi city on Monday covering all major roads to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel which is observed throughout the country as National Unity Day.
The Fine arts Department of the Sharnbasva University organized a photo exhibition of the life and times of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhai Patel. The important events in the life of Sardar Vallabhai Patel and the historic moments of heads of various princely state merging their regions with India under the supervision of Sardar Vallabhai Patel and the police action launched in few princely states including the then Hyderabad Province ruled by the Nizam photographed were part of the photo exhibition.
Vice Chancellor of the University Dr Niranjan V Nisty, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof V D Mytri, Registrar Dr Anilkumar Bidve, Dean Dr Lakshmi Patil Maka, Finance Officer Prof Kiran Maka, Regisrar Evaluation Dr Basavaraj Matpathi were among other officials of the University who flagged off the Motorcycle rally at the the famed Sharanabasaveshwar Shrine in the heart of Kalaburagi City. One of the highlights of the motor cycle rally was the large participation of the women, braving the early morning chillness and mist.
The motor cycle rally, displaying the placards praising Sardar Vallabhai Patel and need for staying united to face all the challenges, traversed through the major roads in the city touched all important junctions including the Sardar Vallabhai Patel chowk and reached the main campus of the Sharnbasva University.
Later, Dr Nisty inaugurated the photo exhibition of the life and times of Sardar Vallabhai Patel in the main campus. Head of the Fine arts department Prof Subbaiah Neela was present.
