The Lorry Owners Association urges to bring down the diesel price, GST

Bangalore: Today the President of Federation of Karnataka Lorry Owners Association B. Channa Reddy held a Press Conference. In the Press Conference They demanded the Central Government to reduce the Diesel Prices and few more requests. They also said that if their requests are not resolved within a month, Country level Lorry Owners association will go for Trucker Strike.

In view of the above system 93 lakh trucks are engaged in goods transport by road, out of the 93 lakh trucks 90% of them are owned by single truck owner owning up to 5 trucks.  The running cost of truck is Rs.26 per kilometer towards Diesel. All the trucks are owned by individuals, buying the trucks on hire purchase system. They have to compulsorily pay the monthly installments, or else the vehicles will be seized by the financiers. The trucking industry is engaged by lakhs of people in the country and generating employment to cores of people.

As mentioned above due to COVID-19 the entire country is economically suffering. Most business places are closed because of this disease.  In these Circumstances the central governmentsdecision tolevy of abnormal taxes on Diesel and Petrol only add to the misery  of lakhs of truck owners of the country,  and there by curtailing  their capacity to give employment  to cores of people.

This action made all the truck owners associations of the country come together and jointly discuss many other issues along with Diesel and give a common protest letter in the country level, so that the central government may consider the request to reduce the Diesel prices and other issues within a month. If the relief is not forth coming in the nearest future the country level organizations will sent a protest letter to central government, indicating there going to be an All India Trucker strike till the demands are resolved by the Central Government.
