Rang-e-Gazal contest in Kalaburagi on Feb 20
Kalaburagi: Rang-e-Gazal contest will be organized at the national level under the auspices of the United Council for Education and Culture.
Speaking in press meet chairman Shaista Yusuf said that the first round of the competition will be conducted at Anjuman e Tarakki Urdu Hind Auditorium in Gulbarga on February 20 in which talented students and senior people can showcase their Gazal recitation skill.
The procedure of the Competition is that the aspirants choose the ghazals of selected poets ranging from Amir Khusroo to Javed Akhtar and recite the ghazals without music. The aspirants are not necessary to be familiar with the Urdu language. They can write the ghazal in their mother tongue or in state language or in Roman script.
This Competition consists of three rounds.The procedure of the first and second rounds will be the same. In the third round the participant will have to recite the ghazal given by the judges.
Participants are divided into three categories on the basis of age. The first category will be 16 to 24 years the second category will be 25 to 40 years and the third category will be 41 years and above.
Three prizes are allocated for each category. The first is one lakh rupees , the second prize is fifty thousand rupees and the third prize is twenty five thousand tuples.
The form can be submitted on the mobile itself by entering the required information. Noted Urdu literates Anis Siddiqui, Kausar Parveen, artists Rehaman Patel and Shahed Pasha were present.
