Independence day celebrated with pomp and gaiety in Sharnbasva University
KALABURAGI; The Chairperson of the Sharnbasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Matoshree Dr Dakshayini Avvaji, who is also the Member of Board of Governors of the Sharnbasva University has said that the although the country achieved commendable progress in the areas of Science and Technology, Education and providing basic infrastructure facilities there was a need for a united effort to overcome haunting problems of Poverty, inequalities and environmental issues to achieve the dream of developed India by 2047.
Speaking after unfurling the National Flag to commemorate the 78th Independence Day celebrations in the main campus of the Sharnbasva University in Kalaburagi City on Thursday, Dr Dakshayini Avvaji said that the dream of developed India in all sectors could be achieved only with unwavering commitment and integrity of the fellow citizen. “The teachers have the great responsibility to produce committed and responsible future citizens to work untiringly to make this country great in all respect and make it a economic superpower”.
Dr Avvaji said that the foundation for India’s independence was laid by the sacrifices of millions of Indians and these sacrifices should not be allowed to go waste and it was the responsibility of every citizen to protect the independence of the country and should be ready for any sacrifice to protect the Independence of the country.
She said that the Sharnabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha, which is providing educational avenues to more than 30,000 students in its chain of educational institutions, is playing a crucial role in providing educational empowerment to tens of thousands of young minds and make them responsible citizens. Dr Avvaji reserved special praise for the Sharnabasaveshwar Residential composite Pre University college which has stood out in providing quality education to the students and ensuring free medical seats to 700 to 800 students ever year.
“We have future plans to further expand the Sharanabasaveshwar Residential Composite Pre University College by opening one more branch in the city which the main intention of meeting the growing demands from the general public for admission to the college every year.
In his maiden speech the 9th Mahadasoha Peetadhipathi of the Samasthan Chiranjivee Poojya Doddappa Appa who inspected the guard of honour of the NCC Cadets and students of different schools and colleges, said that everybody were enjoying the fruits of Independence due to the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the jawans who laid down their lives to protect the borders of the country. He offered his respects to his teachers and his father and 8th Mahadasoha Peetadhipathi Poojya Dr Sharnabaswappa Appaji, Mother Dr Dakshayini Avvaji and his sisters Bhavani, Shivani Maheshwari who were also present.
Prominent among others who were present included Secretary of the Sangha Mr Basavaraj Deshmukh, Vice Chancellor Prof Anilkumar Bidave, Registrar Dr S G Dollegoudar, Dean Dr Lakshmi Patil Maka, Director Dr V D Mytri and others. Later the students of the different schools and colleges presented cultural programmes.
Earlier in the Sharnbasva University, Vice Chancellor Dr Anilkumar Bidve hoisted the national flag in the main campus of the University in the presence of Registrar Dr S G Dollegoudar, Dean Dr Lakshmi Patil Maka, FinanceOfficer Prof Kiran Maka, Director Prof V D Mytri and others.
