Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering Bengaluru bags Best Performing College Award
KALABURAGI; The Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering in Bengaluru has bagged the Prestigious Best Performing College Award in the Annual State Level Poster Presentation and Exhibition of Projects in the 47th Series of Student Project Programme organized by the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) in the Sharnbasva University in Kalaburagi city on Saturday.
The Jury Committee consisting of senior scientists from premier institutes of higher education and research including Indian Institute of Science, National Aeronautical Laboratory (NAL) and others took into consideration several parameters including the number of projects submitted by the different colleges and institutes of higher studies, the quality of the projects, presentation and other factors before finalizing the selection of the Best Performing College Award presented to one college in the state every year.
Regional Director of the Visverayya Technological University in Kalaburagi Prof Basavaraj Gadgay and other dignitaries including the Secretary of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Mr Basavaraj Deshmukh, Senior faculty of the IISc and Secretary of the KSCST Prof Ashok M Raichur, Executive Secretary Dr U T Vijay, Vice Chancellor of the Sharnbasva University Dr Anilkumar Bidve, Registrar Dr S G Dollegoudar and other dignitaries joined hands to congratulate the Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering for bagging the prestigious award.
The dignitaries also gave away 48 best projects presented by the students of different colleges in the state which included 25 Best Poster Presentation Projects and 23 Best Exhibition Projects to the students. The Dayananda College of Engineering which bagged the best performing college award along with Ramaiah Isntitute of Technology, Bengaluru hogged the limelight in the best projects by bagging three best project each awards, followed by Sharnbasva University, Kalaburagi, R V College of Engineering Bengaluru, G M Institute of Technology, Davanagere, Mangalore Institute of technology and Engineering Moodbidri, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangalore, and BLDEA’S V P Dr P G Kalakatti College of Engineering and Technology Vijayapura bagged two each best Project awards.
Out of the total 354 projects selected for the 47th series SPP Annual State Level Poster Presentation and Project Exhibition 210 Projects were exhibited in the exhibition by 142 colleges from different parts of Karnataka and 350 students who prepared these projects along with their mentor-teachers showcased these projects to the Juries in the exhibition.
The officials of the KSCST including Prof Ashok M Raichur and Dr U T Vijay were all praise for the excellent facilities and hospitality exhibited by the host Sharnbasva University in the two day state level exhibition and taking care of every need of the participants and guests during the two day event.
Prof Basavaraj Gadgay in his addressed appealed to the KSCST to organize such state level science exhibition at least once in two years in the Kalyana Karnataka region which would motivate the science and engineering students of the region to participate more in numbers and exhibit their talents.
Prof Anilkumar Bidve presided over and Prof Nagbasavanna Gurugol proposed vote of thanks. Secretary of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Mr Basavaraj Deshmukh, Registrar of the University Prof S G Dollegoudar, Prominent among others present included Director of the University Dr. V D Mytri, Dean of the University Dr Lakshmi Patil Maka, Registrar (Evaluation) Dr S H Honnalli and Finance Officer Prof Kiran Maka were present on the occasion.
