CM Siddaramaiah isn’t the type who is scared of threats: DCM DK Shivakumar
Kalaburgi: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today said Siddaramaiah is a seasoned politician and is not the type who is scared of threats.
Addressing a press conference in Kalaburgi, he said, “CM Siddaramaiah ordered the constitution of a judicial commission to investigate the Muda scam himself. He has nothing to be afraid of. He is a seasoned politician with four decades of experience and is certainly not the type who is scared by threats.”
Asked about Jagadish Shettar’s comment that Siddaramaiah has nothing to be scared of if he has not done anything wrong, the DCM said, “Who is scared? Shettar must be scared. The High Court has stayed the prosecution permission as it thinks the CM hasn’t done anything wrong.”
Asked if CM Siddaramaiah would complete full term of five years, he said, “The Congress party will govern the State for the next 10 years.”
Asked if the Congress party was insulting the Governor because he is a Dalit, he said, “It is the Constitution which has put him in that place and not the caste.”
Asked about BJP’s demand to register a case under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act for insulting a Dalit Governor, the DCM said, “Tell them to come and get admitted to the new hospital which has come up newly in Kalaburgi.”
Replying to a query on BJP’s tweet which drew parallels between the arrest of the then CM Yediyurappa and the current situation, he said, “It is not the Congress which put Yediyurappa in jail, it was Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy who were responsible.”
Asked about Lokayukta requesting Governor to give permission to prosecute him in a mining case, he said, “I don’t have much information on this. I need to see the documents myself and can’t depend on media reports.”
Asked about Delhi visit, he said, “The two of us had spoken about briefing the High Command on the ground realities and hence we are travelling to Delhi.”
Replying to Satish Jarakiholi’s statement that Siddaramaiah needs to be supported, the DCM said, “All leaders including Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge are supporting the CM.
Asked where the fight between the CM and Governor would reach, he said, “The CM hasn’t done anything wrong; he will get justice.”
