Graduation Day of the Faculty of Engineering Technology held in Sharnbasva University

KALABURAGI; Senior Lead-Talent Acquisition in IT major Infosys Mr Amogh Vadiraj Bengeri stressed the importance of the continuing education to update the latest advances and new emerging technologies for the young engineering graduates coming out of the universities to achieve success in their professional life.

Delivering the graduation day address at the Graduation Day celebrations of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (Co-Education) in Sharnbasva University on Saturday, Mr Bengeri said that apart from the continuing education, two other important factors that should be attached more importance for shaping the professional careers was the networking and acquiring the knowledge of Artificial Intelligence.

Mr Bengeri told the young graduates that the continuing education should be the integral part of their professional career and apart from the paid courses hundreds of free courses offered by many institutions in the technical field was available online and the young graduates whether they were employed are not should update their knowledge in the emerging areas of science and technology through these courses.

The Infosys for instance was offering free online courses through its application Infosys springboard and the engineering graduates should utilize this opportunity and update their knowledge. “Continuous learning would automatically result in continuous growth in your professional career” he added.

He said that the engineering graduates who are active in social networks like Facebook, Instagram should use the facility for networking with their old friends, alumni and companies for furthering their professional careers apart from using these social networks for entertainment purposes. Every engineering graduate should become part of Linked in application which is very useful for getting a good opening in the job market.

Mr Bengeri said that the Artificial Intelligence was here for a longer stay and domination in everybody’s life. “For Next two decades Artificial Intelligence is going to dominate and it is imperative for every engineering graduate to upskill their knowledge in Artificial Intelligence”.

The Secretary of the Sharnbasveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Mr Basavaraj Deshmukh in his inaugural address said that “Emptiness Disease” is one of the major malady which haunting many families in the recent times. In many families the children abandon their parents or leaving them to fend for themselves after getting jobs in far off places.

In a word of advice to the engineering graduates passing out of the University, Mr Deshmukh said that it was imperative for them to settle down in their life elsewhere away from their parents, they should set aside some time or days in a month or week for visiting their parents and taking care of their aged parents. “Your parents have sacrificed their life and everything for your wellbeing and it is your duty to take care of them when they were in your need…”

Mr Deshmukh said that those who were working in bigger cities in IT companies instead of spending their weekends in the place of their work should visit their parents and spend some good time with them and make them happy.

Vice Chancellor Prof Anilkumar Bidve in his address said that the graduation day celebration was a long felt need of the student and this has been fulfilled this year and wished the students a bright professional and academic future. The Graduation Day celebrations of other faculties would be held on January 06 and 07. The scholars who were awarded Ph.D degrees, M.Tech and B.Tech degrees were given away the gold medals and certificates by the dignitaries. Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Technology (Co-Education) Prof Shivakumar Javalagi welcomed and introduced the graduating students. Prof Shashidar Sonnad proposed vote of thanks.
