Education Minister Inaugurated New Buildings of CUK
KALABURAGI: “CUK is the pride of Karnataka and it will help for the development of Karnataka” said Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India.
He was speaking on the occasion of inauguration of various buildings and other development activities of Central University of Karnataka (CUK), Kalaburagi such as newly constructed 17 academic buildings (Block D-7 to D-23), two OBC hostels, one guest house, one multipurpose hall, 1.20 lakh cubic meter storage capacity pond and 20 lakh liters storage capacity sump.
He further said “I am very happy to inaugurate all the newly constructed buildings and other development activities. I am pleased to see the progress of the university and its beautiful campus. I have seen the kind of progress university has achieved in all the revive meetings. I am very confident that university will become centre of excellence and bring revolutionary change in the education sector and it will certainly contribute for the nation building”
While talking about the New Education Policy (NEP) he said “NEP emphasizes on research and development because R&D is backbone of the nation building. Green revolution, white revolution and other developments are the outcome of R&D. As our Prime Minister says we have to reach new heights globally through research and development, hence we are going to establish National Research Foundation (NRF) to boost the research and innovation in the country.” Further he said “we are coming out with the program called ‘Study in India, Stay in India’ because every year around two lakhs of our students go abroad for the higher education and stay there.
Under ‘Study in India, Stay in India’ already 50 thousand students across globe have registered for this program and many of our students want to come back to India to study under this program. This will help us to make our students to contribute for the nation building.” He also said “under NEP we are going to permit 30 world class universities to come to India and it will help our students to get best education within the country. India is land of great universities and intellectuals. We had our Takshasheela, Vikramshhela and Nalanda Universities where students from different parts of the world came and studied here. Our country also produced great people like Shushruta, Charaka and Aryabhat.”
Talking about the online education he said “we are working on ‘One Nation, One Channel’, SWAYAM and SWAYAM PRABHA will help deliver quality education through online. We are working on war putting to bring all the learning content under one umbrella. Students are very dynamic and potential they only need conducive environment for learning and we are committed for that.”
.Shri Sanjay Dhotre Minister of State, Ministry of Education, Government of India, also spoke on the occasion and said “in short span of time CUK has grown immensely and showing great potential to become centre of excellence. Quality education is engine of productivity and it will help to achieve ‘AtmaNirbharBharath’. Education is about providing national and constitutional values and scientific temperament among the students. We have to make students to inculcate values of ‘EkBharathShresthaBharath’. NEP 2020 aims to achieve and provide world class education.”
Dr.UmeshJadhav, Member of Parliament, LokSabhaKalaburagi also spoke on the occasion and said “Kalyana Karnataka is a backward area and we are happy that CUK has come to this region. We need more funds to develop the university and the region. University needs sufficient water supply to expand its academic activities both state and central governments
