Engineer’s DayCelebrated CUK

Kalaburagi: The School of Engineering (SOE), Central University of Karnataka (CUK), Kalaburagi, here at Kadaganchi celebrated Engineer’s Day to mark the birth anniversary of Bharataratna Sir. M.Visvesvarya on 15th September 2020.

The online event hosted on the google meet platform witnessed the inaugural address by Vice-Chancellor Prof. H.M.Maheshwariah who highlighted the life and work of Sir MVisvesvarya and his contributions to the nation along with his immense involvement of public works being carried out across Karnataka in general and the Mysore region in particular.Prof. G.R.Naik, Pro Vice-Chancellor, emphasized the contributions of Engineers to society. He also highlighted about developments and achievements of School of Engineering and about the upcoming labs in SOE.The Registrar Prof. MushtaqAhmed.I.Patel, spoke about the importance of Engineer’s Day, their contributions and role in shaping the modern world.

The event included two special lectures; one by guest speaker Dr.ChetanYadati, Assistant Vice-President NextGen Analytics Group, City Corp Bengaluru. He brought the attention of the audience regarding how Engineers should uphold values and hone skills in problem-solving techniques and overcoming failures.The second guest speaker Dr. L.R.Manjunath, Zonal Head and Associate Vice-President JSW Cement LTD, Bengaluru. He focused on the meticulous planning of Mysore city by Sir. MVisvesvarya, it’sefficiency and success even to this day and alsospoke comprehensively about self-discipline, self-introspection, and goal setting in enhancing personality development.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Niteen B,and Mr. Paramesh.S.PAssistant ProfessorsSOE, CUK, Kalaburagi. The former hosted the program.The event ended with proposing a vote of thanks by Dr.VeereshKasabegoudar, Dean, SOE, CUK, Kalaburagi.

The online event was followed by celebrations at the School of Engineering by offering floral tribute to the portrait of Sir. MV by all dignitaries along with teaching staff of all the departments under School of Engineering. The event was marked by and carrying out plantation work at the school premises by all the dignitaries.
