CHIEF MINISTER CALLS ON  HARDEEP SINGH PURI REQUESTS RELEASE OF PERFORMANCE GRANTS FOR URBAN LOCAL BODIES.

NEW DELHI: The Chief Minister of Karnataka Mr B. S. Yediyurappa called on the Union Minister forCivil Aviation, Housing and Urban AffairsMr Hardeep Singh Puriat Nirman Bhavan in New Delhi on Fridayevening and requested to releaseRs 29520 Lakh for Performance Grants for Urban Local Bodies. He also sought  for the inclusion of Ballari, Kalaburagi, Mysuru and Vijayapura City Corporations  under the Smart City Programme.

Mr Yediyurappasought release of balance amount of Rs 24775 Lakh under Non-Million Plus Cities and also the first instalment of basic grant of Rs 27900 Lakh under Million Plus Cities.

The Chief Minister appealed to the Union Minister that the Concessional Fee, which has already accrued to Airports Authority of India and due from Bengaluru International Airport Limited  be utilised for meeting the cost of additional land acquisition for the expansion of existing AAI Airports at Belagavi, Kalaburagi and Mangaluru in general and Mysuru Airport in particular.
