19th Annual Indian Royal Academy National Awards announced
Kalaburagi: The Indian Royal Academy of Art and Culture has announced its 19th annual Indian Royal Academy National Awards for the year 2023. The jury experts have chosen 75 artists across the country for the award to mark Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The artworks including painting, drawing, graphic, sculpture and photography that received for contest is overwhelming.
Five artists are chosen for cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a certificate each for their best artworks. The artists selected for cash prize will be honoured with a check and a certificate they are Dr. Kusumlata Sharma (Bhopal), Syed Mustafa (Kalaburagi), Narhadiwala Kishorkumar Ratilal (Anand-Gujarat), Mamta Bora (Bangalore), all for painting category and Manish Kumar Verma from Raipur (Chhattisgarh) for his sculpture work. These would receive the awards that given in the name of legendary artists MF Husain, SH Raza, FN Souza, Amrita Sher-Gil and AA Almelkar.
Apart from this 20 artists will be honoured with Gold Medals, 20 artists will receive merit certificate award and 30 artists will receive Jury Choice Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Special Award.
The award distribution function will be held on October 2 at 11 am at Suvarna Sabha-Kannada Bhavan in Kalaburagi city, academy president Rehaman Patel said in a release.
