Make a plan of cultural hub, will sanction funds through KKRDB: Dr Ajaysingh
Kalaburagi: Under the complex of Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishath “Kala Soudha” (Art Gallery), on the left side at Bapugouda Darshanapur Rangamandir at Kannada Bhavan was inaugurated recently.
MLA and KKRDB chairman Dr Ajaysingh visited Kala Soudha on Wednesday and saw all artworks which were painted by eminent artists of Kalaburagi city and discussed with them about the theme and techniques of art.
He expressed that the parishat has taken a good decision by creating Kala Soudha which is the first independent public art gallery which could be used by various artists working in the field painting, traditional and folk art, sculpture, photography and other art forms he said.
He suggested parishat president Vijaykumar Patil Tegaltippi to form a committee that we could establish a spacious cultural hub in the city or in the premises of Kannada Bhavan itself as KKRDB have separate funds to art, culture and literature.
As the city is a divisional headquarter all districts artists could come here and showcase their talent he said. He also said that as all know that Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat in Bengaluru is the best art complex, in its reference we can meet its head BL Shankar and discuss about how to build a cultural centre in Kalaburagi also.
Vijaykumar Patil Tegaltippi in his presidential address said that though the Kalaburagi district has hundreds of reputed artists who have made their name at national and international level they had no space to showcase their artworks in their own city. Due to this problem many artists’ moves to other mega cities to show their talent, that’s why parishat took this decision he said.
Later, Dr Ajaysingh felicitated all the 10 national and international reputed artists from the city who displayed their artworks in exhibition titled “Dahsavarna”. The artists are Basawaraj Uppin, Subayya Neela, Rajshekhar S, Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel, Rajesh Sangvikar, Rehaman Patel, Shivleela Uppin, Raghavendra Bhurli, Shahed Pasha and Nagraj Kumbhar. The paintings theme based on Socio-culture, nature, heritage, spirituality, digital art, mythology and abstract artworks are on display.
Convener of the exhibition who is also an artist Rehaman Patel said that the exhibition will continue till November 3 daily 10.30 to 6 pm.
