Kalaburagi writer bags ‘Abdul Raheem Khan literary Award’ by Reqtanama & Anjuman Taraqqui E Urdu Telangana & Andhra

KALABURAGI : Well known Urdu writer and journalist Mohammed Majid All who is also known as Dr Majid Daghi of Gulbarga has been selected for the ” Abdur Raheem Khan literary Award” for the year 2023 He has been chosen for the award for his extensive literary and non-literary writings.

The award carrying a Middle, Certificate and memento Shawl with bouquet, will be presented to him at a function to be held in Hyderabad on November 11 , according to convener Dr Javid Kamal.

The 63 years Dr Majid Daghi is also a journalist and has written extensively on many subjects. A post graduate in Urdu, he has done his doctorate on the subject titled ‘A study of Urdu language,literature, Journalism and education in Kurnool district’. Dr Majid Daghi is distinguished member of the ‘Kalyan Karnataka Pradeshda Itihas Rachna Samiti (Government of Karnataka), Founder Secretary of Lok Sahitya Manch Kalaburagi and the present President and prefix secretary of Anjuman Taraqqui E Urdu Hind Gulbarga ,
He has also been a member of Karnataka Urdu Academy Bangalore for two terms in the past.

Dr Majid Daghi is associated with a number of social and Literary organisations in the State. Dr Daghi has participated in a number of seminars and presented papers on different subjects. He has received a mamber of awards and honours.

So far, nine of his books have been published. Of these, two books have been awarded the State Award of the Government of Karnataka and one book has been awarded the National Award. He has also been awarded the state’s best prose writer of 2007 by the Urdu Academy through Chief Minister of karnataka Dr. N. Dharam Singh.

In recognition of his meritorious services, Gulbarga University conducted a presentation in 2021 under the title ‘Dr Majid Daghi Life and Achievements’. Gulbarga University has also included one of his books ‘ Fan Kay kuch naye tanqeedi zaviye’ as a Reference book in the curriculum of MA Urdu.

It is heartening to note that he has been conferred with a prestigious literary award today by RekhtaNama and Anjuman-e-Tarraqi Urdu Hind Branch, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. On this occasion, other writers who have served in various fields of life, J.S. Iftikhar, M. A. Majid, Mr. Sufi Sultan Shatari, Tameez Ahmad Faraz, Muhammad Usman Shaheed, Dr. Syed Islamuddin Mujahid, Muhammad Wahajuddin, Maulana Ghaiyas Ahmad Rushadi, Mushtaq Ahmed Suharwardi, Dr. Sheikh Zeenat Parveen were awarded awards under different categories. Dr. Javid Kamal Editor Quarterly Rekhtanama welcomed the award winners.
