Growth fillip of the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) would help in hastening the economic progress of the country
KALABURAGI; General Secretary of the Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB)-Karnataka Mr K Narayana Prasanna said that the faster growth of the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) would help in India achieving economic prosperity and achieve the target of India becoming an economic super power in the near future.
Speaking after the inaugurating the one day seminar on “Design Awareness Program for Innovating MSMEs and Students” organized jointly by the MSME Centre of Excellence in the Department of Electronics Systems Engineering (DESE) in Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru, IMS Foundation and Sharnbasva University in the main campus of the University in Kalaburagi city on Wednesday Mr Prasanna said that the innovation and excellence are the two key words for the success of the MSMEs and organizing such seminars for the entrepreneurs as well as the students would go long way in encouraging the entrepreneurs to attempt innovations in their industries and the students to come out with new ideas for their future enterprises.
Speaking about the contribution of the LUB which acts as a facilitation centre for the growth an development of MSMEs in the country, Mr Prasanna said that the LUB provided a forum to MSMEs to interact, help each other with intra-trade and resolve problems faced by them and encourage them to pay an important role in the economic development of the country. “The journey of the LUB began on a minor note in the early 90s but now has growth into a mammoth knowledge powerhouse with critical inroads in government corridors”.
Mr Prasanna said that LUB’s initiatives in Karnataka included its function as advisory group fostering promotion and development of industrial units pan India, focusing on start-up ecosystem with niche sector development, connecting farmers with export houses for market linkages,
He said that the country was at the inflection point of complete paradigm shift in the way the industry operates and functioned now. In the transitory period when India is fast becoming global manufacturing hub, it was important for the Industry to adopt innovations in every process so that they are ready to meet the requirement of the world with ease and confidence.
Mr Prasanna said that Innovation and disruptive technologies are very essential in prevailing conditions not only to excel in what is done but also simply survive in this highly competitive global village concept. “innovations can be defined a major catalyst for improving the creativity, character and thought process of a company. By stimulating the imagination of employees, an organization can attain desired heights”.
Secretary of the Sharnabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Mr Basavaraj Deshmukh in his presidential remarks said that organizing such seminars would provide necessary fillip to the students to improve their academic standards and encourage them to go for innovations in their research and development works. He said that the Union Government was giving more stress and focused on the skill development to the students and the UGC was also giving more stress on the inclusion of skill development as part of the syllabus in both the Undergraduate the post graduate education. Four technical sessions were addressed by senior scientists including Dr T V Prabhakar, Chief Research Scientists and Principal Investigator in IISc Bengalore, Prof H S Jamadagni, former principal Investigator at IISc, Dr Kalai Socrates, Director MSME-DF), and others. Prominent among others present included Pro Chancellor Prof V D Mytri, Registrar Dr Anil Kumar Bidave, Registrar Evaluation Dr S H Honnalli and others.
