Inauguration of Two Week’s Training programme on Cyber Security & Tools

KALABURAGI: Cyber security has become a prime necessity in today’s digital world. With ever increasing number of cyber crimes has made our lives insecure. Envisioning the importance of cyber security, PDA College has been proactive in taking commendable steps in this direction. State of the art cyber security laboratory was established in September 2019 and cyber security cell was formed to look after activities to create awareness in this field. In this view and by the directions of NPIU New Delhi, PDA College of Engineering has organized Two Week Training Programme on “Cyber Security & Tools” from 19th to 29th Dec 2020.

The Training programme was inaugurated by Dr. Bhimashankar C Bilgundi, President, HKE Society, Kalaburagi. spoke about Govt. of  India’s National cyber security policy and steps taken by PDACEK in addressing cyber security challenges and how this is helpful in upgrading the knowledge of faculties and students to meet current IT requirements.

Dr.Shivanand S Devarmani, Vice-President, Er. Nitin B. Jawali, Secretary, Shri. Gangadhar D Yeli, Joint- Secretary & Governing Council Members of HKES, Dr.Basavaraj G Patil, Dr. Sampatkumar D Loya, Shri. Vijaykumar J Deshmukh, Shri. Arunkumar M Patil, Shri. Udaykumar S Chincholi, Dr. Nagendra S Manthale, Smt. Anuradha M Desai, Shri. Anilkumar S Margol, Dr. S.B Kamareddy, Er. Satishchandra C Hadagalimath, Dr. S R Harwal, & Prof. Sanjay Makal, congratulated & wished success for the programme by joining to the Inaugural session through online.

Dr.S S Kalashetty, Vice Principal, PDACEK welcomed the gathering. Dr. Shridevi Soma Coordinator of the training programme introduced the guests to the audience and emphasized on the need of cyber security training in the current digital world.

The function was graced online with two eminent Cyber security experts.

Col. Pradeep bhatt, as Chief Guest has joined online for the function and delivered keynote address. He has rich experience of more than a decade in the domain of cyber security and contributed his best of services for defense Govt. of India   and other organization like IBM. In his keynote address he focused on cyber security from the perspective of business, Enterprise, government functions and services. He advised the students that as future engineering professionals, they should understand the impact of having good cyber security systems and practices, which are critical for these IT- dependent organizations to survive and succeed in a hostile cyber space.

Shri R.S Hiremath, as a guest of honor has graced the occasion online. He is alumni of PDACEK. He delivers lectures to IIT’S, IIM’s and 350+ engineering colleges all over India. He has to his credit over 675 patents, He is a great visionary who always work for innovations.

Over 600 teachers, researchers and student participants registered for training from various institutes of different states of India. Deans, COE, HOD’s of various department, Faculty of PDACEK  were present. Coordinator of cyber security cell Dr. Sujata T and Dr.Vishwanath Borakapalli joined online for training.

Advisor of cyber security cell Dr. Jayashree Agarkhed, Dr.Prakash Pattan were present. Technical support was provided by Shri. Sharankumar Huli, Dr.Rakesh Huded, Shri Prashant Devani, Miss Rajlaxmi Bilgundi, Shri Vishwanath Gugwad, Shri Khaja M and Shri Siraj M, Members of cyber security cell , PDACEK, Were present.

Shri. Sharan Padashetty, TEQIP Coordinator and Convener of the programme,  proposed vote of thanks and he said TEQIP always helped to organize such event. Dr. Shailaja S hosted the event and Smt.Pooja Hattarki presented invocation song.
