Book on Dr Appaji and Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya released
KALABURAGI: Mahadasoha Peetathipathi of the Sharnbasveshwar Samasthan Poojya Dr Sharnbaswappa Appaji, who is also the Chancellor of the Sharnbasva University and Chairperson of the Sharnabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha Matoshree Dr Dakshayini Avvaji released the book “Mahadasohi and Mahamana”, a comparative study of two visionary educationists Bharat Ratna Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya and Poojya dr Sharnbaswappa Appaji written by Dean of the Social Science Faculty in the Sharnbasva University Mr T V Sivanandan at the Dasoha Mahamane in Kalaburagi city on Wednesday night.
Speaking after releasing the book, Poojya Appaji congratulated for bringing out the book and stressed the importance of writing for the teachers to be a motivational force for the students under them to write books on various issues. “Writing makes a man perfect” and continuous writing improved not only the writing skills of the pupil but also helps in improving the memory power within them which would help them achieving the academic and professional goals, Poojya Appaji said.
Matoshree Dr Dakshayini Avvaji in her brief address congratulated Mr Sivanandan for bringing out the comparative study of two great visionary educationists and said that the book would be translated into Kannada and Hindi for reaching wider reader network. She said that the translation of the book in Kannada was in advanced stage of completition and the work of translating the book in Hindi would be entrusted to an expert soon.
Vice Chancellor of the Sharnbasva University Dr Niranjan Nisty said that it was an appreciable work comparing the contribution of the two visionary educationists in the field of education and said that if Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya who was fondly called as “Mahamana” by his admirers played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Banaras Hindu University overcoming all the adversities, Poojya Appaji single handedly converted the once educationally backward Kalyana Karnataka region into a major educational hub and knowledge centre.
Dr Nisty said that Poojya Appaji who opened new vistas of opportunities in the field of education had established chain of educational institutions and finally established a multi-disciplinary Sharnbasva University, a private university, overcoming all the difficulties. He said Poojya Appaji who laid the foundation for the establishment of the Gulbarga University by persuading the Karnatak University to first establish the Post Graduate Centre as the first step towards establishment of a full fledged University was also responsible for starting the first exclusive engineering college for women in the entire North Karnataka and second in Karnataka.
Registrar of the University Dr Anilkumar Bidve said that Poojya Dr Appaji was the motivational force behind the teachers writing new books and publishing their research studies in the international journals. He said that the faculty of department departments in the University have started publishing many books in the recent years and one of the features of the activity was that the University itself published all these books as an encouragement to the writers.
Mr Sivanandan in his introductory remark said that motivation for writing this book was Poojya Appaji and his immense and priceless contribution in the field of education and said that an honest attempt has been made to compare the contribution of the two great educationists of the present era. He thanked Principal of the Sharnabasveshwar Residential Public School for providing financial assistance for the printing of the book. Pro Vice Chancellor of the University Prof V D Mytri, Dean Dr Lakshmi Patil Maka, Dr. Allamprabhu Deshmukh, Chairperson of the Department of Visual Arts Dr S M Neela were among others who were present. Later Poojya Appaji released a book “Karnatakada Nisarga Chitrakale” written by Prof Nijalinga Mugali.
