677th Bahmani Empire Foundation Day celebrated

Kalaburagi: 677th Bahmani Empire Foundation Day celebrated by paying a floral tribute at the tomb of founder and first king Alauddin Hasan Bahman Shah in the city on Saturday. The event was organized by the Bahmani Foundation.  Artists, historians, intellectuals, social workers of Kalaburagi city expressed their views on the contributions of Bahmani kings.

Alauddin Hasan Bahman Shah was crowned as a king on August 3, 1347 and made Ahsanabad (Gulbarga) his capital and expanded his territory across Deccan. Eighteen kings have ruled the kingdom which ended at its second capital Bidar in 1527.

Bahmani Foundation president Qazi Rizwan ur Rahman Siddiqui said that they are organizing this event since two decades. Artist and photographer Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel explained brief history of Bahmani kingdom. Artist and researcher Rehaman Patel said that 200-years of Bahmanis rule they have contributed wonderful art and architecture which is popularly known as Indo-Islamic style across the world.

Sadar Qazi Hamed Faisal Siddiqui, Jabbar Gola, Azizullah Sarmast, Mohammed Merajuddin, Nawab Khan, Alauddin Akbar, Anwar Siladar, Asad Ansari, Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel, Rehaman Patel, Mohammed Ismail, Sajid Ranjolvi, Mohammed Fakhruddin, Yaseen Ashraf, Mohammed Shafik,  Abdullah Khan, Basawaraj and many others were present on the occasion.
