KALABURAGI;  The Kalyana Karnataka Horata Samiti while welcoming the decisions taken in the state cabinet meeting held in Kalaburagi city on Tuesday has demanded its time bound implementation and sought clarification on the source of  allocation of the funds for implementing these decisions.

Addressing a joint press conference in Kalaburagi city on Wednesday, Honorary President of the Samiti  Mr Basavaraj Deshmukh, who is also the Secretary of the Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardak Sangha and the President of the Samiti Dr Lakshman Dasti said that the long pending demand of the people of the region for the constitution of a separate secretariat for the implementation of the Article 371 (J) has been conceded in the state cabinet meeting and said that without any further delay the separate secretariat should be constituted within one week and any failure in this regard would force the Samiti to launch a sustained struggle after one week.

Mr Dasti said that although many decisions involving several crores of rupees has been taken which would go long way in mitigating the problems of the region, there has been no clarity on the allocation of the funds for implementing these decisions and wanted to know whether the funds for these projects were being sanctioned from the regular funds or whether the funds for these projects were being diverted from the funds allocated to the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB).

He said that the state government should ensure that the funds for these projects were given from the regular funds and no funds allocated for the KKRDB should be diverted for the new projects sanctioned in the state cabinet.  Mr Dasti said that the KKRDB funds have been sanctioned for special purpose of eradicating the backwardness of the region and it should be used for that purpose only.
