Contribution of Poojya Dr Sharnbaswappa Appaji in the field of Education is unmatched: Mr Sharnbasappa Dharshanapur

KALABURAGI; The Small Scale and Public Enterprises Minister Mr Sharnabasappa Dharshanapur said that the contribution of the 8th Mahadasoha Peetadhipathi of the Sharnbasweshwar Samasthan and Chancellor of the Sharnbasva University Poojya Dr Sharnabaswappa Appaji in the field of education and bringing the education to the doorsteps of people of the backward Kalyana Karnataka region is immense and remained unmatched till today.

Delivering the Chief Guest address at the 6th Convocation of the SharnbasvaUniversity in Poojya Basavarajappa Appaji Memorial Hall in Kalaburagi City on Saturday, Mr Dharshanapur said that the transformation from a situation two decades back when the people were sending their wards for higher education in places like Dharwad, Hyderabad and Bengaluru due to lack of degree colleges in Kalaburagi to the present situation of the students were flocking Kalaburagi for pursuing higher education.

“The one person who is responsible for this transformation from an educationally backward region to becoming an educational hub is Poojya Dr Appaji and who with his single handed devotion had achieved this impossible task. Besides starting chain of educational institutions, Poojya Appaji had also achieved his life time dream of establishing a private university which is now witnessing the sixth convocation….this is not a mean achievement”.

Mr Dharshanapur said that the Sharnabasaveshwar Samasthan had played a pivotal role in upholding the culture of the Dasoha of filling both the empty stomach and Jnana Dasoha of providing quality education at an affordable cost. Due to the efforts of Poojya Dr Appaji tens of thousands of students coming from deprived and poorer section of the society became educationally empowered and were now employed in prestigious institutions both within and outside the country.

He said that the like food and shelter which is essential for survival, education was also an essential requirement for a humanbeing to become knowledgeable and refined.  Poojya Appaji was a visionary educationist and establishment of an engineering college at a remote place in Surpur in Yadgir districts speaks volumes about his concern for the people living in neglected region and need for bringing professional education nearer to their homes.

Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Anilkumar Bidve welcomed the gathering and provided a brief profile of the University and reminisced  remarkable achievements of the University and highlighted the future plans.  Registrar Evaluation Dr S H Honnalli provided the details of the students who qualified to get the degrees in the convocation and list of gold medal and cash prize winners. Registrar  of the University Prof S G Dollegoudar proposed vote of thanks.
