Art flourishes beyond caste and religion: Azim Pasha | Royal Academy Annual National Awards Presented
KALABURAGI: Renowned artist Prof SC Patil urged the government to establish a fine art university in the state. He was speaking at the 20th annual award function of the Indian Royal Academy of Art and Culture at the Kala Soudha, Kannada Bhavan in the city. He said that many artists of the state have made a great contribution to visual art today.
Karnataka Central University Assistant Registrar Prof Azim Pasha said that painting has the power to advocate pluralistic culture. Art flourishes beyond caste and religion. It has no narrowness. A wide perspective is in painting. He said that fine arts play an important role in bringing us together.
President of District Kannada Sahitya Parishad Vijayakumar Patil Tegaltippi said that there are many multi-talented artists in the district. He is continuously engaged in social activities and rendering unique service to the art heritage. He said that work needs to be done to identify them. He said that it has been decided to organize a district level visual arts literature conference for the first time in the coming month of January. Royal Academy President Rehmana Patel presided.
On this occasion, Anandbabu M Ambar Khane (Mysore), Wajid Sajid (Manvi), GSB Agnihotri (Bangalore) was honored with cash prizes. Besides, others were awarded gold medals and merit certificate awards.
Senior artistes such as AS Patil, Rajasekhara Shamanna, Raghavendra Burli, Nagendra Sarakagi, Shekhara Byakod, Syed Mustafa, Sheikh Ahsan, Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishad Honorary Secretary Shivraj Andagi, Dharmanna H Dhanni, Ayazuddin Patel, Rajendra Madabul and others were present.
