Rehaman Patel’s painting bags Hyderabad Art Society Award
Kalburagi: In the world of visual art, it is always felt that the painters should carry a heart that resonates reality of life and reflects the untold feelings and human emotions on the canvas. The painting should not only end up becoming a piece of art fit to be put up on wall, but should transmit its inherent emotions to the viewers.
Kalaburagi-based painter Rehaman Patel has bagged the prestigious award of excellence for his painting title “India under one umbrella”. He was conferred at 79th Annual All India Art Exhibition 2022 organized by the Hyderabad Art Society an autonomous organization of Department of Language and Culture (Government of Telangana). Patel received the award of cash prize of Rs. 20,000 citation and a certificate for his outstanding artwork on Sunday May 8 at Gandhi Centenary Hall, Exhibition Ground, Nampally, Hyderabad. The award was presented in presence of the Hyderabad Art Society president MV Ramana Reddy and secretary J Venkateshwaralu.
S Vani Devi MLC daughter of former Prime Minister PV Narasimharao was the chief guest. And Mamidi Harikrishna director, Dept of Language and Culture and Dr A Nagendra Reddy director, Salar Jung Museum were the guests of honour.
Awarded painting
A painting “India under one Umbrella” in abstract form with tint acrylic colour in background depicts the strong cultural tag among the people of different faiths embedded in single thread that gives a message of national integration and communal harmony. The different symbols place under the umbrella. The work was appreciated as the country is moving in a sensitive situation. Such artworks could unite the people and make India stronger. The painting has now got a permanent wall at the prestigious Hyderabad Art Society.
